Joining Monterra Credit Union as a business member opens the door to all the valuable products, services and resources we provide. 

Your business can become a Monterra Credit Union business member if you meet the following criteria: 

  • Your business must be located or headquartered in San Mateo County, City of Palo Alto, or the following San Francisco zip codes: 94110, 94112, 94116, 94122, 94124, 94132, or 94134
  • Your annual revenue does not exceed $10,000,000.
  • Your monthly business activities require minimal currency or coin transactions
  • Certain business types may also be prohibited from joining the credit union.

Your business type determines the information you need to provide to open your Monterra Credit Union account. 

Member Representatives Authorized Signers Controller Beneficial Owners
A Member Representative is anyone who is designated to open and/or manage an account and transact on behalf of the legally defined business—typically, a CEO, COO, CFO or Owner.An Authorized Signer can perform transactions on the business account including deposits and withdrawals, both in person and online/electronically.A Controller is the Responsible Officer who designates Member Representatives and Authorized Signers.A Beneficial Owner is anyone who owns 25% or more of the business.

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires us to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. This includes obtaining, verifying and recording information of any Member Representative(s), Authorized Signer(s) and Beneficial Owner.
